KANKAKEE AREA YMCA

Volunteer
The Y is a nonprofit like no other. Take an active role in strengthening your community.
Volunteer Opportunities
The YMCA strives to connect and engage people in our communities. Many people connect through our programs; however, we invite you to engage at another level through volunteering. At the Y, there are three main types of volunteer opportunities through which you can connect with others.
Be a role model by working with youth and teens. Coach a sport, tutor a child after school or read to a child in one of our child care programs.
Serve the community through one of our outreach programs to kids and families. Volunteer with the YMCA Starfish Academy literacy program, Strengthening Families Program, English as a Second Language and more.
Join the Y team and work alongside them at various activities. Help make our events a success by volunteering at a race, golf tournament or signature event. Serve on a committee, be a workout buddy or lead a small group.
You may be able to make an ongoing commitment to serve with us for a season, or you may serve at a one-time event. No matter how you help, you'll make a difference as you work with others to create a feeling of belonging in the Y.
